Darvin G. Lindquist • 1937- 2010 Darvin was born October 9, 1937 at the Kenmare Hospital to Edward and Evelyn (Johnson) Lindquist. Darvin went to school in Kenmare, graduating in 1955, which followed with a degree in printing from the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton. He worked at The Kenmare News in high school and after college, until arthritis made it hard for him to work, or stand for long periods. In 1999 he hung up his pica stick for good. On June 9th 1957 he married Shirley Benshoof from the Flaxton, ND area. They made their home in Kenmare, where they raised their family. He is survived by his wife; Shirley; three children; Sheri (Edwin) Rucks, Tom (Mary) Lindquist and Sara (Mark) Staskywicz; six grandchildren; Emily, Aaron and Laura Rucks; Chris and Jessica Lindquist; Kyle Staskywicz; two great-grandchildren; Haily and Jordon Lindquist; one brother Dalton, mother in-law Marge Benshoof, sisters- in-law, Eileen and Carol; brothers-in-law, Kenny, Lee and Ed and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy; sister, Dolores; brother, Dennis; nephew, Jerry; his parents and his father in-law. On December 18, 2010 there was a family service held at the Thompson Larson Funeral Home in Kenmare. A graveside service will be held in the spring of 2011 at Elmdale Lutheran Cemetery, Niobe, ND The family requests donations be sent to the Arthritis Foundation.
