Limke 1936 - 2002 Lawrence J. "Larry" Limke, 66, 3204 4th St. SW, Minot, formerly of Carpio, ND, died Monday, June 10, 2002, in a single vehicle accident. He was born on June 6, 1936, in rural Lansford, ND, the son of Charles and Dorothea (Koetter) Limke. He moved with his family to Carpio, where he attended school and graduated from Carpio High School in 1955. He served in the United States Army from June of 1955 to July of 1956. He was honorably discharged from the service, and returned to his family farm near Carpio. He married Margaret Murphy on October 25, 1956, in Donnybrook, ND. They lived and farmed south of Carpio for over 40 years. They raised grain, cattle and hogs, and his family was very active in the operation. They moved to Minot in 1997, after his semi-retirement from farming, where he had since lived. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, deer hunting with his family, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, the Donnybrook American Legion Post #195, the Golden K Kiwanis Club and Moose Lodge, both of Minot. Survivors: wife, Margaret, Minot; mother, Dorothea Limke, Minot; sons, Jeff Limke and wife Debbie, Apple Valley, MN, Jack Limke and wife Genita, Brush Prairie, WA, and Joe Limke and wife Pam, Woodbury, MN; daughters, Mary Hansen and husband Larry (Rusty), and Lori McKay and husband Kent, both of Carpio; 15 grandchildren, Kyle, Nathan and Travis Limke, Megan and Anna Limke, Katie and Derek Limke, Jay, Jim and Ryan Hansen, Rylan, Devin and John Sundsbak, and Megan and Marisa McKay; brother, LeRoy Limke and wife Carol, Carpio; sisters, Leona Knower and husband Charles, Apple Valley, Betty Goettle and husband Dale, Donnybrook, ND, and Ardell Skaufel and husband Bill, Burnsville, MN; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. His father, Charles, and his grandparents, preceded him in death. Funeral: Thursday, June 13, 2002, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
