Jean Limke 1914 - 2010 Jean Marie Limke was born August 18, 1914, on the family farm in rural Grano, ND. She was the daughter of Edward and Mabelle (Spencer) Guidinger. Jean attended elementary school at Lockwood Consolidated School, rural Lansford. She graduated from Mohall High School in 1930, and from Valley City State Teachers College. Following graduation she taught school in rural Carpio and served as Renville County Deputy Superintendent of Schools in Mohall for three years. On August 18, 1938, she married David Limke at St. Henry's Catholic Church, rural Foxholm, ND. They made their home on the farm in Lockwood Township until moving to Lansford in 1992. They spent their winters in southern states and in Minot. David passed away in 1994. Jean had returned to teaching in 1952 and taught in Glenburn and for 19 years in Lansford until her retirement in 1973. She was a member of the North Dakota Retired Teachers Association; the National Retired Teachers Association, the St. John Altar Society in Lansford, the Hi-Neighbor Senior Citizens in Lansford, and a former member of the Grano Happy Homemakers. Jean is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Arnold) Buhr, Buffalo, ND, and Judith Wells, Minot; sons, Patrick (Jackie) Limke, Minot, Richard (Jean) Limke, Minot, Denis (Jacky) Limke, Chandler, AZ, and James (Rebecca) Limke, Lansford; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, David; grandchildren, Erin Maureen Limke, Jed David Limke; brothers, Lyle Guidinger and Frank Guidinger; and sister, Margaret Theis.
