Margaret Helena Lewis 1921 - 2005

Margaret Helena Lewis, 84, Kenmare, ND, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, in a Minot hospital.

She was born on July 9, 1921, in Kenmare, ND the daughter of William and Alice (Block) Lewis. She was raised in the Kenmare area and attended country school in Greenbush Township and Sauck Prairie Township. She assisted her parents on the family farmstead and also baby-sat for a number of years.

In the early 1960's Margaret started working at the Baptist Home in Kenmare as a caregiver and a housekeeper. She worked at the home until the later 80's when she retired. Margaret love spending time in her garden growing various types of vegetables and flowers. She also enjoyed reading and scrap booking.

Margaret was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare and was active with the Unice Circle and the church prayer circle.

Survivors: sister, Irene Lewis, Kenmare; special cousin, Darrel (Sandra) Block, Carpio, ND, nieces, Janice (Arvid) Ness, Grafton, ND and JoAnn (Byron) Kerbaugh, Kenmare; brother-in-law, Gordon Berg, Minot, ND; and numerous cousins and great nephews, John and Matthew Ness. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Robert and her sister, Marion Berg.

Funeral Service: Saturday, July 16, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare.

Visitation: Friday, July 15, 2005, from 2p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare.

Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare.

Memorials are preferred to Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare.
