Norrine Levy 1955 - 2003

Norrine Levy, 48, Minot, born Norrine Gray, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend was peacefully called home to the lord Wednesday, December 3, 2003.

Norrine was born in Huron, South Dakota on April 23rd 1955, the daughter of Dick Richard and Leone (Ibis) Gray. She grew up in Huron and graduated from Brookings College. Norrine moved with her family to Garrison, North Dakota in 1979, and later moved to Minot in 1981. Norrine worked in the electronics dept at JC Penney Company Inc. where she set many sales records. In 1988-89, Norrine received several awards from Minot Women of Today including Standing Chairman of the Year in 1989. In 1991, she started working at Walmart and headed up their electronics division for twelve years where she again broke many district and regional sales records for her department. She set and surpassed her goal of over five million dollars in sales in a one-year period.

She was also very active in many volunteer events such as Relay for Life, Children's Miracle Network, and the upcoming Heart Walk.

Norrine was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She came from a close family. As a daughter she always showed great respect and love for her parents. As a sister she was the first to lend a hand or provide a shoulder when her brother and sister needed one. To her many nieces and nephews she will always be their "Nauntie" and "Aunt Torine". To her friends and family she was the kindest soul they knew and was always ready with a special poem she would compose and she always knew just the right thing to say.

Norrine did not know the word quit. As a young adult she was diagnosed with and survived Hotchkins disease. She loved life and set an example that anyone would be proud to follow. Every day of her life was lived to its fullest. She was constantly striving to be the best that she could be. Even in her last hours she showed everyone what it truly means to be a warrior.

She will be loved and remembered by her mother Leone Gray, Minot; her brother Melvin Gray and his wife Carol, Max, ND; her sister Beverly Owens, Minot; her nieces, Jayleanne Evanoff, Jolynn Owens, Charlene Hopfauf, April and Bridjette Gray; her nephew, Dick Gray; twelve great nieces and nephews and her very special Walmart family who gave her tremendous support and love throughout her illness.
