Roy Levadney 1930- 2011 Roy was born February 28, 1930, in Max, ND to Alex and Elsie (Hubsky) Levadney, who farmed north of Max. He was raised on the family farm in Rushville Township, Ward County, north of Max. He attended Rushville Township School, and graduated from Max High School in 1948. He then attended Minot State College. Roy entered the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged and returned to Max to farm with his brothers, Clarence and Paul. He met his future wife while working winters in Minneapolis. Roy and Margaret were married in 1962, and made their home on the farm, raising two daughters, Barbara and Nancy. In 1998 due to ill health Roy was forced to retire and they moved to Minot. Roy was quick with a laugh and a smile, he always had a twinkle in his eyes and had the gift to gab. He had many friends and acquaintances in Max and Minot and shared many good times with them all. Roy was a farmer through and through and was well known for his skill and knowledge. Roy is survived by, his wife, Margaret, Minot; daughters, Barbara (Jim) Lennington, Bismarck, and Nancy (Jeff) Marcille, Minot; four grandchildren, Angelina and Matthew Lennington, both of Fargo, Kayla Marcille, Air Force active duty at Moody A.F.B. in Georgia, and Kelsey Marcille, Minot; sisters, Carol Rufus and Claire Levadney, both of Minot, and Delores Gallagher, Minneapolis; brother, Paul Levadney, Minot; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Edwin, Clarence, Peter and Lawrence. Memorial service: Friday, May 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial: A private burial will be held at a later time. Officiating Clergy: Rev. Luther Hanson CD Music Selections Military Honors: Members of the North Dakota National Honor Guard. Following the service everyone is invited to Nancy and Jeff Marcille’s house, located at 1504 35th Ave. SW, Minot, for a time of lunch and fellowship. Our family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown during Roy’s illness and now at this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten.
