Ricky "Rick" Neal Letvin 1958 - 2004

Ricky "Rick" Neal Letvin, 45, Velva, ND, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, in an motor vehicle accident near Max.

Rick was born on October 21, 1958, the son of Alfred and Ruth (Miller) Letvin in Minot, ND. He was raised on a farm south of Butte, ND, and educated at Butte Public Schools, graduating in 1976. He attended Bismarck Junior College for a year. He moved to Portland, OR, where he was employed with Fargo Glass. He later returned to Fargo, ND, and attended North Dakota State University, Fargo, and graduated in 1985 with a degree in Agriculture Engineering. During the summers, he assisted his father with the daily operations of the family farm.

Rick married Jodi Johnson on April 30, 1988 in Benedict, ND. They made their home in Butte, ND until the fall of 1991, when they moved to Velva. He continued to assist his father with the operation of the family farm. During the winters of 1996 through 2002, he was employed by Sykes Enterprises in the technical services department. Most recently, he was employed during the winters by Sunrise Computer Service, Inc. as a computer services technician in Velva.

Rick enjoyed hunting, camping, visiting with friends, darts, golfing, softball, basketball, and was an avid St. Louis Rams fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

As a youngster, he was a member of the 4-H and Boy Scouts in Butte. Rick was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Butte, where he was baptized and confirmed, and currently was a member of Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.

Surviving family includes:
wife of 16 years: Jodi of Velva; daughters: Elizabeth, Michaela, Brianna, and Madison Letvin, all of Velva; parents, Alfred and Ruth Letvin, Butte; brothers, Ronald Letvin, Sioux Falls, SD, and Gregory (Julie) Letvin, Lockridge, IA; sister, Kathleen Hemmesch, Burlington, IA; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Lucille Johnson, Ruso, ND; brother-in-law, Tim (Becky) Johnson, Hazen, ND; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Randy) Knain, Rugby, ND, and Denette (Pat) Lothspeich, Belfield, ND; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Service: Saturday, July 10, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.

Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.

Visitation: Friday, July 9, 2004, from 2 pm until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Velva.

It is the family's wish if you prefer to do a memorial for Rick and Jodi's four daughters, it can be done through Northern Tier Federal Credit Union Educational Trust Fund in Velva.
