Lynette Ekstrom Lesmann • 1926 - 2011 The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 10:30 a.m., at the Southside Church of the Nazarene in Minot, ND, officiated by the Rev. Scott Mehlhoff. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2011, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial will take place Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Kenmare, ND. Serving as casketbearers will be Lynette’s 16 grandchildren. Lynette Mae Clott was born on May 4, 1926 in Sioux Falls, SD, to Chester and Ellen (Botz) Clott. At an early age, her family moved to Minot where she and her siblings were raised. She attended elementary and secondary school in the Minot Public Schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Kenmare and attended Southside Church of the Nazarene in Minot until her health began to fail. On September 22, 1945, she married Arvid Ekstrom in Plentywood, MT. They raised their children on the family farm west of Kenmare. Lynette helped with the farming and meat processing operations. Following Arvid’s death in 1980 she moved to Minot. On September 17, 1990 Lynette married Lloyd Lesmann. Following their marriage they lived in Westhope, ND, until 2000, when they moved to Minot. Lynette’s family was very important to her and she kept in frequent contact with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed going out for coffee and playing games with her siblings. She was an excellent hostess and enjoyed organizing and cooking for gatherings, especially the annual deer hunting party organized by Arvid. Lynette is survived by her husband, Lloyd Lesmann of Minot; son, Dale (Annette) Ekstrom of Mandan, ND; daughters, Deanna (Bruce) Ankenbauer of Kenmare, Debbie (Steve) Petron of Bismarck, ND, Darlene (Duane) Hanson of East Grand Forks, MN, and Dixie (Jon) Larson of Mandan, ND; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; Lloyd’s children, George (Vicky) Lesmann, North Branch, MN, Milton (Kathy) Lesmann, Chisago, MN, Lester Lesmann, Westhope, ND, Donna (Ron) Erickson, Minot, ND, Betty (Mark) Wiese, Minot and Kathy (friend Gary Ridl) Whalen, Surrey, ND; brothers, Jerald Clott of Minot, and Ronald Clott of Kennewick, WA; sisters, Leora Huddleson of Mandan, and Elayne Yineman of Minot; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvid Ekstrom; her parents; and one brother, DuWayne Clott.
