Sidney C. Lenertz 1941 - 2009
Sidney
C. Lenertz, 67, Minot, died Thursday, February 5, 2009 in a Minot
hospital.
Sidney was born on October 8, 1941, a son of Al and Joan (Kossan)
Lenertz in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in Karlsruhe,
graduating from Karlsruhe High School in 1959.
Sid worked in a variety of careers in his lifetime, including
Oil Exploration in Alaska, Computer maintenance in Calgary, Alberta
where he met future wife Ruth. Until 1979, when he returned to
North Dakota, where Sid owned the department store in New Town,
ND.
On August 19, 1982, he was united in marriage to Ruth Buchanan
in Stanley, ND. They moved to Billings, MT, where he worked for
Corral West Ranch Wear as a regional supervisor, also working
in Cheyenne, WY and Spokane, WA, retiring in 2003. Sid was hard
working, honorable, and had a work ethic that was second to none,
taking great pride in everything he did. They returned to North
Dakota in 2006.
Sid enjoyed camping and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending
time with his two children, Patricia and David, and granddaughter
Madison of Dallas, Texas. He was a loving husband, father and
grandfather who will be greatly missed.

Bismarck, Allen (Vicki) Lenertz, Minot, sisters: Mary (Andrew)
Bischof, Minot, Melanie (Bruce) Peterson, Henderson, Nevada;
sisters-in-law Carol Paterson, Calgary, Alberta, Myrtle (Fred)
Martyn, Sundre, Alberta, Faye (Arnold) Osadchuk, Camrose, Alberta,
Jean (Dan) Howton, Surrey, BC, Roberta (Ron) Shannon, Sundre,
Alberta, Joy (Vern) Stienbrecker, Calgary, Alberta, brothers-in-law:
Harold (LaVonne) Buchanan, Mansfield, Texas, Dan (Merlynn) Buchanan,
South Jordan, Utah; 32 nieces and nephews and 28 great-nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Al, mother Joan, his sister
Henrietta, his sister Maria, in-laws Arthur and Velma Buchanan,
brother-in-law Les Shannon, great nephew Daniel and numerous
aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation: Sunday, February 8, 2009 from noon until 5
pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot
Vigil Prayer Service: Sunday, February 8, 2009, 5 pm at
Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot
Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, February 9, 2009 at
10:30 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot
Burial: Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Karlsruhe,
ND in the spring of 2009

to join the family for this time.
The Lenertz family would like to thank everyone for the many
acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time. Your
thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated and will never be
