Ardis D. Lee 1931 - 2006

Ardis D. Lee, 74, 520 13th St. NW, Minot, died Thursday, March 9, 2006 in a Minot hospital.

Ardis was born December 14, 1931 in Wolseth, ND, the daughter of Carl and Thea (Sande) Skarstad. Her father passed away when she was an infant. She spent her early years in the Simcoe and Norwich areas. Ardis moved to Minot with her mother where she attended junior and senior high schools. She graduated in 1950 from Minot High School.

Ardis began working at Widdel's Bakery in Minot, while in high school. It was during this time she met her future husband, Donald Lee. Ardis and Donald were married in 1950 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot where together they raised their family. Ardis also worked at Sunshine Grocery for several years.

Together, Ardis and Don operated the Riverside Motel in Minot from 1984 to 1994, when she retired.

Ardis became a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Minot, in 1953. She participated in many church activities and belonged to the church circle.

Over the years Ardis loved working with ceramics and doing needlework. She was an avid animal lover and throughout her lifetime adopted many strays. Ardis loved angels. She acquired quite a collection during her life.

Her greatest loves were her husband Don and their children, grandchildren and great-grandson. Ardis loved every moment she spent with her family.

Survivors: Husband, Donald Lee, Minot; sons, Rick (Julie) Lee, Grand Forks, ND, and their children, Nicholas, Jessica and her fiancé, Benjamin Riepl, and Cassandra; one great-grandson, Trystan Perez; Rodney (Pamela) Lee, Blaine, MN, and their children, Kristin Lee and her husband, Jeremy Lewandowski and Richard Lee; sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn Skarstad and Arlene (Wayne) Nelson, all of Minot; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ardis was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Thea Skarstad, and nine brothers and sisters.

Funeral: Monday, March 13, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation and Public Prayer Service: Visitation will be Sunday from noon to 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Officiant: Rev. David Maxfield

Music: Sharon Anderson, vocalist will offer "How Great Thou Art" and "In the Garden"
