Lavery When it came to choosing the name of our child, Mark and Rona agreed that if it was a girl, Rona would choose the name. If it was a boy, Mark would choose the name. Once we found out it was a boy, Mark wanted a name that dealt with the ocean. Mark researched and found the name Kainoa, meaning "Strength of the sea." Kainoa was given the middle name Kaina'lu O'kalani meaning 'Great Wave of the heavens." It was given and blessed by Rona's cousin who is a Catholic priest.
