Yvonne Laubacher 1952 - 2005

Yvonne Laubacher, 52, 301 3rd Ave., Burlington, died Friday, May 13, 2005 in her home, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends.

Yvonne Zerr was born July 10, 1952, the daughter of Joe and Verna (Kost) Zerr in Harvey, ND. She was reared and educated in the Harvey area, graduating from Harvey high school in 1970. Following graduation she attended college at the Minot State University.

On December 15, 1972, she was united in marriage to John Laubacher in Harvey. They made their home in Minot before moving to Burlington in 1976.

For a number of years, Yvonne was employed by the United Public School District #7 as a route driver, also working as site manager of gaming for the Speedway steakhouse, and worked as a housekeeper. Yvonne was the driving force behind the Burlington Recreation Commission , and was instrumental in the creation of the new sports complex, before ill health forced her to retire.

Yvonne was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves baseball team. She enjoyed playing whist, and her door was always open for family and friends to visit. Yvonne loved to travel, she had been to Hawaii several times, the Bahamas, Italy, England, and took many trips around the United States with her family.

Those who shared in her life: Husband of 32 years, John Laubacher, Burlington; Daughters: Janell Laubacher, Minot, ND ; Joette Laubacher, Burlington, ND; Brothers: Glen Zerr, Martin, ND; Kelly (Arlene) Zerr, Story City, IA, Sister: Kathy Zerr, Berlin, Germany, Parents: Joe and Verna Zerr, Martin, ND; In-laws: Tom (Lil) Laubacher, Cuyahoga Falls, OH; Rita (Ray) Lee, Seville, OH; Marie (Tim) Canan, Akron, OH. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.

Yvonne was preceded in death by: An infant daughter, her grandparents, several aunts and uncles.

Visitation: Monday, May 16, 2005 from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Vigil Prayer Service: Monday, May 16, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot
