Janice E. Larson 1937 - 2004
Janice was born on May 8, 1937, in Makoti, ND, the daughter of Jack and Esther (Alexander) Downie. She was reared and educated in Makoti and was valedictorian of North Shore High School Class of 1955. Janice was once married to Ramon Larson. In 1971, Janice went to work at the Dakota Boys Ranch Foundation as a memorial secretary in Minot and in 1999, she retired. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Makoti and attended West Minot Church of God. Janice had a generous warm personality and adored her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they adored her. Janice enjoyed darts and playing pinochle. To know her was to love her. Survivors: daughters, Ramona (Ralph) Llewellyn, Minot, Myrna Westmoreland and fiancé Jim Huffman, Lancaster, PA, Diane Harmon, Laurie Larson, and Connie Larson, all of Minot; 16 grandchildren, Heidi, Tim, Sarah, Kevin, Leah, Brandon, Kyle, Roger, Janelle, Rikki, John, Kayla, Ralph, Tami, Melinda, and Ward; 13 great-grandchildren, Shawn, Kayla, Kristian, Serena, Jasmine, Elizabeth, Brittany, Macey, Paige, Amber, Andrew, Ryan, and Rhianne; sisters, Delores (Dale) Zieman, Lakeland, FL, Joyce Nordwall, and Lois Wolf, both Minot, and Connie Treiber, Richardton, ND; brother-in-law, Ron Kolden, Carrington, ND, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Tom, Darold and Jackie Downie and sisters, Doris Barta and Diana Kolden. Funeral Service: Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the West Minot Church of God. Visitation: Monday, April 5 2004, from Noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot. Officiant: Rev.
