Frances R. Lang 1918 - 2004

Frances R. Lang, 86, Minot, died Saturday, November 27, 2004, in a Minot hospital.

Frances was born November 24, 1918, in Elm Township, near Glenburn, ND, the daughter of Louis and Margaret (Carruthers) Elm. She was raised and attended country school in that area.

On April 24, 1944, she married Frank Lang, Jr. Following their marriage she worked as a chambermaid at the Clarence Parker and Leland Parker Hotels in Minot. She then worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in the laundry department and later at Sears Department Store where she retired. Her husband Frank died in April of 1983. Frances continued to live in Minot, until April of 2004, when she entered the Kenmare Baptist Home, where she since had lived.

Frances was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, and was active in the Confraternity of Christian Mothers' and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Frances was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagle's Auxiliary, both in Minot.

Those who shared in her life: Daughters, Evelyn Fitzgerald, Modesto, CA, and Helen Lang, Oakdale, CA; son, Lawrence (Alice) Lang, Minot; stepsons, Albert Lang, Elk Grove, CA, and Ralph Lang, Fresno, CA; stepdaughter, Lillian Bailor, Wenatchee, WA; three grandchildren, Kathy Alexander, Linton, ND, Janet Fitzgerald, Modesto, CA, and Melissa Edinger, Oakdale, CA; five great-grandchildren, Lisa and Shellie Peterson, Jordan Tomlinson, Branden and Amanda Hoffner; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Alg, Minot, Catherine Zeretzke, Deering, Margaret Mosser, Minot, and Regina Iverson, Redwood City, CA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lang, Jr.; brothers, Matt, Laurence and John Elm.

Funeral: Saturday, December 4, 2004, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.

Visitation and vigil prayer service: Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the vigil prayer service Friday at 7:00 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND
