John W. Landry 1922 - 2005 John W. Landry, 83, Lisbon, ND, formerly of Minot, died Tuesday, September 27, 2005, at the Stadter Center in Grand Forks, ND. John William Landry was born on August 24, 1922, at Belcourt, ND, to John B. and Clara (Monette) Landry. He grew up and attended school in the Rolla and Belcourt area. He entered the United States Army on December 29, 1942. He was awarded the Distinguished Unit Badge with Oak Leaf Cluster and was honorably discharged on October 2, 1945. He then returned to the Belcourt area and later moved to Minot, ND. John married Myrtle Cramer on September 27, 1962, at Belcourt, ND. They lived in Minot where he worked at the Minot Air Force Base as a carpenter and painter. Myrtle died in 1991. In May of 2005, John moved to the ND Veterans Home in Lisbon, ND. He recently moved to the Stadter Center in Grand Forks, ND. John was an avid Hunter and especially enjoyed golfing. He is survived by, two sisters, Cecelia "Sissy" Olson, Rolla, and Aurelia "Betty" (Carl) Libby, Anchorage, AK; as well as many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Louise Vondell, Josie Landry, Patlene Laverdure, Juanita Young and Margaret McNickel. Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, October 1, 2005,
