Donald "Donnie" Landers 1925 - 2010 Donald was born September 5, 1925 in Kenmare, ND, to Harry and Gina (Monson) Landers. He was raised and schooled in Spencer Township. As a teenager he attended welding school in Mandan, ND. He went on to Seattle, WA and worked in the ship yards. In 1943, Donald was drafted into the United States Navy and served in the In 1989, Donald married Wanda (Bird) Long at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Kenmare. Donald was a past Deacon at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Kenmare. He was a member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge. He served on the Board of Directors of Our Savior Church Cemetery Association. He was a member of Farmers Union Spencer-Baden Local and the Kenmare Rural Fire Department. Donald loved the land and his greatest passion was farming, his family and animals. He enjoyed taking trips with his travel companion and devoted wife, Wanda. Donald loved music and dancing and was a member of the Circle and Swing Square Dance Club in Kenmare. Donald was well known for his generosity of time and money. Those who shared in his life, Wife, Wanda, Kenmare; stepdaughter, Sheila (Mark) Miller, Minot; brothers, Allen, Herman and Irwin Landers, all of Kenmare; sister, Hazel Sorensen, Des Moines, IA, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Emma Anderson, and brother, Milton Landers. Funeral: Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare, ND. Visitation and prayer service: Visitation will be Monday, August 2, 2010, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, ND. Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, ND. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to an organization of the donor’s choice. Officiating Clergy: Rev. John Syvertson Music:
