Lillian A. LaCoe 1910 - 2009

Lillian A. LaCoe, 98, Minot, died Thursday, February 5, 2009 in a Minot nursing care facility.

Lillian was born on December 9, 1910 in Harvey, ND, a daughter of Gilbert and Anna (Reum) Bakke. She was raised and educated in Harvey. She married Lloyd Wangen in 1933. The coupled remained in Harvey and were blessed with two children, a son, Donald and a daughter, Sharon. Lloyd died in 1945.

Lillian worked at the Kirton Café for a short time. She married Lawrence LaCoe in 1946. The couple remained in Harvey until moving to Minot in 1990. Lawrence died in 1992.

Lillian was a member of First Lutheran Church in Minot, the Eagles Auxiliary and the Royal Neighbors of America. She was also known to be an excellent pie baker.

She is survived by a daughter Sharoon (Pat) Sullivan of Minot, 4 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands; her son Donald; grandsons, Barry Wangen, Darcy James Feickert and Mark Feickert; her parents; sister, Gladys Knutson and brothers, Oscar Anderson, Rupert Anderson and Art Bakke.

Funeral: Friday, February 13, 2009 at 1 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, Minot.

Visitation will take place for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Officiant: Pastor James Gustafson

Music: "The Lords Prayer" and "On Eagles Wings"

Following the service, there will be a time of fellowship and lunch in the church fellowship hall. Everyone is invited to join the family for this time.

Our family would like to thank all of you for your many acts of kindness. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated during this difficult time. May God bless the memory of Lillian.
