Rodney Kubler 1964 - 2004 Rodney Kubler, 40, Surrey, died Monday, September 6, 2004 at Lake Darling as results of a boating accident. Rod was born on March 10, 1964, in Minot, ND, the son of Marvin and Violet (Frey) Kubler. He attended Sunnyside and Washington Elementary Schools and Jim Hill Junior High School and graduated from Minot High School in 1982. He then went to work in South Dakota for a short time before moving back to Minot where he worked for Dakota Fence before becoming a bricklayer following in his father's footsteps. He worked for Mattson Construction, Jost Construction and Fugelseth Masonry. He was a member of International Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman Local #2 and a former vice-president of that union. On July 23, 1993 in Minot, he married Colleen Torno. They lived in Minot and currently they were living in Surrey. Rod was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Minot. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish. Fishing was his passion. From a young age on, he loved to fish, starting a club with his two nephews, Tim and Brian Foley, called the Walleye Boys. He also was a very devoted family man. He loved his family very much and spent as much time as he could with them. Those who shared in Rod's life are: wife, Colleen, Surrey, ND; daughters, Amanda and Rebecca both of Surrey; mother, Violet Kubler, Minot; sisters, Joyce Kubler, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Sharon Anderson and her husband, Allen, Minot, Karen Morrison and her husband Paul, Minot, Vicky Gilbertson and her husband, Garrett, Parshall, Robin Miller and her husband Michael, Minot. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Rod was preceded in death by his son, Devin, father, Marvin, brother, Marvin, and nephew, Brian Foley. Funeral: First Assembly of God, Minot on Monday, September 13, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND Visitation: Sunday, September 12, 2004, from noon until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.
