Sheri Kraus (Sharell Ann
Tohm) • 1945 - 2002 Sheri Kraus (Sharell Ann Tohm), 57, Minot, died Monday, June 24, 2002, in a Minot Medical Center, following a courageous struggle with cancer. Sheri was born January 29, 1945, in Bottineau, ND, the daughter of Carl and Jean Tohm. She grew up on a farm near Gardena and graduated from Gardena High School in 1963. Following high school, she attended cosmetology school at Josef's School of Hair Design in Bismarck and worked as a beautician in Westhope and Bottineau. On August 12, 1976, she married Jim Kraus and moved to Minot. She was a long-time employee of Trinity Nursing Home, working as a certified nursing assistant, and she also worked in medical records and transportation. Sheri enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, sewing and other craft projects. As members of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, she and her husband enjoyed riding motorcycle together and traveling to the Gold Wing gatherings. She was blessed by the birth of her granddaughter, Kali Ann Koetter born in April of 2002. The past two months were a very special sharing time between Grandma Sheri and Kali baby. She is survived by her husband, Jim Kraus, Minot; children, Robert (Bob) Kraus and his girlfriend Sabrina Porter and Sabrina's daughter, Aubrey, Minot, Brandi Kraus and her fiancee Daniel (Dan) Koetter, Minot and Richard (Rick) Kraus, Minot; granddaughter, Kali Ann Koetter, Minot; mother, Jean Tohm, Minot; sisters, Lorraine Sue Tohm, Bismarck, Peggy Lentz and husband Wayne, Minot, Linda Tohm Holter, Minot, and Bonnie Olton and husband Bert, Palymra, NY; brothers, Allan Tohm and wife Bobbie, Westhope, and Richard Tohm and wife Janel, Surrey; brothers-in-law, Ronald Houmann, Westhope, and Jerry Kraus and his wife Bonnie, Bottineau. Many nieces, nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Tohm and her older sister, Dorothy Jean Houmann. Funeral: Thursday, June, 27, 2002, at 10:00 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Minot. Visitation: Wednesday, June 26, 2002 from noon until 7:00 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
