Margaret Julia Korgel, 98, Minot, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in a Garrison nursing home.

Margaret was born on February 27, 1910, on the family farm in Tatman Township, Ward County, ND, the daughter of George and Rose (Nikish) Dendinger. She was raised on the family farm and attended country schools in the Glenburn area.

Margaret married Albert Korgel on June 4, 1930, at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot. They made their home in Eureka Township, Ward County, north of Minot where they farmed and had a dairy farm for many years. They moved to Minot in January 26, 1990. Albert died on February 20, 1995. Margaret moved to the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison on December 12, 2003.

Margaret was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot. She was a former member of Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot where she was active with the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.

Margaret loved to garden and can fruit and vegetables.

Survivors: daughter, Elaine (Bernie) Schaefer, Minot; grandsons, David (Molly) Schaefer, Cody, WY and Lorrie (Kathy) Schaefer Harlingen, TX; great-grandchildren, Chris Schaefer, south Korea and Heather Schaefer, Harlingen, TX; sister, Elizabeth Moffitt, Norwich, ND; sisters-in-law, Rose Korgel, Minot and Evelyn Dendinger, Minot; and numerous niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, her parents, sister, Helen Werner and brothers, Joe, Art, Frank and Ernie Dendinger.

Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, March 31, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot

Visitation: Sunday, March 30, 2008, from Noon until 5 p.m. with a vigil prayer service at 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
