Kenneth "Kenny" Korgel 1947- 2006


Kenneth "Kenny" Korgel, 58, Minot, died Friday, May 19, 2006 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Kenny was born on September 23, 1947, the son of Arthur and Agnes (Hambek) Korgel in Minot, ND. He attended rural schools until the eighth grade, where he attended Bishop Ryan High School until his junior year, then transferred to Minot High, graduating in 1965. He attended Minot State University for a time.

On July 26, 1968, he was united in marriage to Roxanne Aus in Minot. He worked for Montgomery Ward Auto, Harrington and Minot Livestock Auction, and the City of Minot as an Operator at the Water Treatment Plant. He retired April 1, 2005 to enjoy "Sidewalk farming" and raise beef cattle.

He was on the board of directors for the Minot Rural Fire Department for ten years, current board member of the Eureka Township and was a charter member of the RRR Saddle club of Ruthville, ND. He was the prominent supporter of the Ruthville Roughrider rodeo. He was also an accomplished teamster and drove draft horses for many years.

He was so much more, too much to cover here. He will be sorely missed by:
Wife of 38 years, Roxanne, Minot; two sons: Denin Korgel, Ruthville, ND; James (Renee) Korgel, Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren: Ian Korgel, Minot, Alan Korgel, San Bernardino, CA, Kiana Korgel, Dickey, ND, Syenna Korgel, Cape Coral, FL; brothers: Lenhardt (Patricia) Korgel, Minot; Doran (Elaine) Korgel, Minot; and many special associates; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Visitation: Monday, May 22, 2006 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, and from 6 until 7 at the Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot

Vigil Prayer Service: Monday, May 22, 2006 at 7 p.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot
