Loren Kolloen 1923 - 2003

Loren Kolloen, 80, 600 South Main St., Minot, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, in a Minot nursing home.

Loren was born May 12, 1923, Carpio Township, ND, the son of Peter and Sophie (Lewis) Kolloen He was raised and educated in Carpio Township and graduated from Hartland High School. Following graduation, he worked as a truck driver for a short time. On November 30, 1945, he entered the United States Marine Corp. He served during World War II until being honorably discharged in 1946. He returned to North Dakota and on November 22, 1952, he married Mildred Johnson, in Minot. They lived in Minot where Loren worked for Bridgeman Creamery until moving to Columbia Falls, MT in 1969. He worked for Anaconda Aluminum Company in Columbia Falls until retiring in 1986. He and Mildred returned to Minot in 1998. Mildred passed away on February 4, 2001. Loren continued living in Minot and resided at ManorCare Nursing home for the past two years.

He was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, Minot.

Funeral: Monday, 10:00 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Visitation: Saturday and Sunday from noon until 5 at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND.

Officiant: Rev. Curt Hanson, Chaplain at Trinity Health, Minot
