Lyle Morris Knudson • 1910 - 2008 Lyle was born April 29, 1910, in Minot, ND, the son of Andrew and Caroline (Egilson) Knudson. He was raised in Minot and attended Minot Public Schools. Lyle married Mildred "Mickie" Austreng on October 24, 1934, in Minot. Lyle worked for the Soo Line Freight Office, Armours Creamery, Winston and Newell Warehouse, Oppens Wholesale where he worked for 17 years and at Nash Finch where he worked for 16 years and later retired. Lyle was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church where he ushered for over 50 years and served Lutefisk at the annual church dinner. He was a charter member of the Moose Lodge, 62 year member of the Eagles Aerie and served as president in 1956 and 1957. After his retirement Lyle joined the Golden K Kiwanis where he volunteered for many years. He was also active with the Minot Parents Teachers Association, Boy Scouts and a life member of the Minot Trail Riders Club. Survivors: wife of 73 years, Mickie, Minot; sons, Robert (Connie) Knudson, Minot and Lyle Jr. (Martha) Knudson, San Diego, CA; daughters, Carole (Emmett) Skreen, Cape Coral, FL and Marla (Robert) Keller, Mobridge, SD; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Arnold Knudson, Seattle, WA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Lila, brother, Calvin Knudson, sisters, Hazel Ward and Mae Himmelman. Funeral Service: Saturday, February 23, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot Visitation: Friday, February 22, 2008, from Noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Burial will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
