Alice Kling 1926 - 2010 Alice Elizabeth Kling was born April 14, 1926, a daughter of Lars and Margaret (Fredrickson) Gaardsmoe, in Raub, ND. She was raised and educated in Minot. She was baptized at a Lutheran Church in Raub, ND, and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot. Alice married George Kling September 8, 1947, in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where she raised her family. George passed away September 30, 1985. She was a member of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minot. In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, cooking, crocheting and sewing. Surviving family includes: daughters, Pam (Harry) Fiest, Tolley, ND, and Sandra Smith, Las Vegas, NV; son-in-law, Jack Noguess, Little Lake, MI; step-sons, Donald Vardsveen, Zion, IL, and Michael Vardsveen, Flandreau, SD; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Haine, Minot, Elva Elashewich, Bossier City, LA, and Hilda Seney, Garrison; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral: Monday, May 24, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
