Ivadelle E. "Ivy" Klein 1938 - 2002

Ivadelle E. "Ivy" Klein, 64, 6881 97th St. NW, Bowbells, ND, died Monday, December 23, 2002, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

She was born on May 11, 1938, in Kenmare, ND, the daughter of Walter and Eleanor (Eklund) Egger. She attended country school in Kandiyohi Township School through the eighth grade. As a young girl, she was a member of the Kandy Workers 4-H Club. She attended and graduated from Kenmare High School in 1956. She attended Minot State University and received her teaching certificate in education. She taught school for three years in the Bowbells and Kenmare areas. She worked for the Bowbells Bank, the Bowbells Farmers Union and the Lakeshore Supper Club. She also worked for Jim Bodmer, and for Smiley's Grocery in Bowbells. She married Edward H. Klein of Bowbells on April 2, 1978 in Flaxton, ND. They lived near Bowbells. She worked as a volunteer for the Burke County First District Health Unit in the Kenmare and Bowbells area for over 15 years, and was named Volunteer of the Year in 1998. She was once married to Burt Redmer. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bowbells, and was a member of the Town and Country Homemakers. She served as treasurer for the WELCA Church Council for many years and served as an officer for the Church Women United. Ivy's most important job was that of Grandma, which she took great pride and dedication to spend time with her three grandchildren. She was Cody's and Jarret's biggest basketball fan and love to take April to story hour and dance class.

Survivors: Husband, Edward Klein, Bowbells; daughter, Jill Edwards and husband Randy, Kenmare; three grandchildren, Cody, Jarret and April Edwards; two sisters, Shirley Christensen and husband Delmer, Kenmare and Darlene Haley, Bowbells; one brother, Marlyn Egger and wife Bonnie, Bedford, IN; three uncles, Vernon Eklund, Kenmare, Arthur Eklund and wife Arlene, Bowbells, and Leslie Egger and wife Alex, Bozeman, MT; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Her parents, brother-in-law, Lon Haley, close friend and sister-in-law, Vera Redmer, niece, Kristi Haley and great-niece, Amanda Egger, preceded her in death.

Funeral Service: Saturday, December 28, 2002, 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bowbells, ND.

Public visitation: Saturday, December 28, 2002, from Noon to service time at the church in Bowbells.

Burial: Bowbells Community Cemetery, Bowbells, ND.
