Florence L. Klein 1918- 2011 Florence Louise Buchholz was born March 29, 1918, in Cavalier County, near Sarles, to William and Wilhelmina (Geyer) Buchholz. She was raised in the Hansboro area and graduated from Hansboro High School. She graduated from Jamestown College with a bachelor’s degree in education and then taught in several small schools in eastern North Dakota and later at Rugby and Rock Lake.. Florence married James Klein on Aug. 29, 1946, in Milwaukee, Wis. Following their marriage they made their home on the family farm north of Rock Lake, where they farmed and ranched for 37 years. In 1982 they retired and moved to Minot. While living in Minot Florence and Jim where active members of the Moose Lodge and were members of the Polkateers. Together they volunteered for many years at Trinity Nursing Home and also at Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry, both in Minot. She was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot, and the Altar Society there. Those who shared in her life: Loving husband, James, Minot; children, Dr. David (Judy) Klein, Minot, Dean (Nancy) Klein, Devils Lake, Jeffrey Klein, Bismarck and Karen (Andy) Rosemark, Rochester, Minn.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Eugene (Lorraine) Klein, Minot. Numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends also survive. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, William and Wilhelmina. Funeral: Saturday, May 14, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot. Visitation and vigil service: Visitation will be today (Friday, May 13) 2011, from 2 to 7 p.m., with the vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial: A private burial will be held at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to an organization of the donor’s choice. After the meal at the church, you are all invited to the Moose Lodge, 400 9th St. SW, Minot, to continue sharing memories of Florence with Jim and his family. Our family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten.
