Edwin W. "Ed" Klein • 1931 - 2011 Edwin Walter Klein was born March 23, 1931 in Minot, ND to Frank and Lena (Schmidt) Klein. He was raised and educated in the Norwich and Surrey Communities. Edwin was united in marriage to Lenora Kraft on October 7, 1953 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Minot. They were life-long farmers in the Norwich area. He had worked as a corn and sunflower seed dealer since 1979. He was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and Moose Lodge, all in Minot. He was also a member of the Surrey Senior Citizens. Those who shared in his life, his wife, Lenora Klein, Norwich; sons, David (Judy) Klein, Minot, Neil (Melissa) Klein and Corey (Heather) Klein; daughter-in-law, Leanne Klein, all of Norwich; 10 grandchildren, Laurie Mock, Travis, Derek, Tyler, Allison, Brynn, Mallory, Savannah, Connor and Brady Klein; great-grandchildren, Alex, Zachary and Quinn Mock, Elise, Drew, Mataya and Liam Klein; brother, William Klein, Norwich; sisters, Beatrice Merck and Catherine Hegre both of Minot; brothers-in-law, Jerry Mikel, Hayfield, MN, Joe (Mary Lou) Kraft, Granville, ND, Pete (Gladys) Kraft, Norwich; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harry (Anne) Carleno, Littleton, CO; sisters-in-law, Mary Bloms, Minot, and Emily Dufner, Fargo, ND; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Randy; brother, Leo Klein; sister, Marilyn Mikel; sister-in-law, Theresa Klein Lorenz; brothers-in-law, Frank Merck, Myron Hegre, John Kraft and Ralph Bloms. Funeral: Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Minot. Visitation and vigil prayer service: Visitation will be Wednesday, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the vigil prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Hospice, St. Leo’s Catholic Church, or the charity of your choice.
