Kenneth H. Kjonaas 1922 - 2004 Kenneth H. Kjonaas, 81, Minot, formerly of Glenburn, died Thursday, January 15, 2004, in Minot, ND. Kenneth was born July 12, 1922, on the family farm in Prescott Township, Renville County, near Glenburn, ND, the son of Halvor and Bertine (Braaten) Kjonaas. He was raised on the family farm and attended school in Glenburn. He graduated from Glenburn High School in 1940. On October 14, 1945 he married Helen Rhoads in Glenburn. Following their marriage they lived on the family farm until 1956, when they moved into Glenburn. They continued to farm until their retirement, and in 1995 they moved to Minot. Kenneth entered Trinity Homes in Minot, in 1999, where he since had lived. Kenneth was a member of First Baptist Church in Glenburn, where he served as trustee for a number of years. He was very active in the church, serving on various boards and he sang in the church choir. He was a member of the Glenburn Lions Club and also served on the Glenburn Public School Board. Kenneth also was a volunteer with the Glenburn Fire Department. In 1999 he became a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Minot. Survivors: Wife, Helen, Minot; sons, Don Kjonaas, Anoka, MN, Richard (Debbie) Kjonaas, Terre Haute, IN, Bob (Linda) Kjonaas, Minot; daughter, Karen (Bob) Holmen, Minot; nine grandchildren, Michael (Laura) Orth, Brian (Melissa) Kjonaas and Kevin Kjonaas, Christy (Nate) Hyer, Tammy Kjonaas, Tim (Jada) Kjonaas, Andy Kjonaas, Alyssa and Kallie Holmen; three great-grandchildren, Alicia and Cassidy Orth, and Abigail Hyer; sisters, Helen Ellingson, Audrey Benno and Bernice Sorbo; sisters-in-law, Clarice Bouw and Carol (Gus) Garney; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews also survive. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, a twin sister, Corrine Smith, and a sister, Gladys Ring. Funeral: Monday, January 19, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., at Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot. Visitation: Sunday, January 18, 2004, from noon to 5:00 p.m., and Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. There will also be reviewal at the church on Monday one hour prior to the service. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND, in the spring. Officiant: Rev.
