Randall Kjelbertson 1929 - 2003
He was born November 27, 1929, in Devils Lake, ND, the son of Randall Orville and Julia (Narmoe) Kjelbertson. He was reared and educated in the Devils Lake and Upham, ND, areas. He assisted on the family farm until he started working for Strucksnes Construction Company Inc., Minot. Randall married Bonnie Souther on July 7, 1958, in Cutbank, MT. In 1963, he started Kjelbertson Construction a company he owned and operated for many years. Randall later went to work for the oil fields in Broadus, MT, Rock Springs WY and then they returned to Minot. Randall and Bonnie later divorced. Randall was once married to Betty Pfeilschiefter. Randall and Bonnie reconciled in November of 2002. Randall continued to live in Minot until his death. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, and the Elks Lodge both of Minot. Survivors: companion, Bonnie, Minot; sons, Ricky Kjelbertson, Minot and Jesse Kjelbertson, Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Debra Pixler, Minot; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother, Everett Kjelbertson, MN; sister, Helen Leier, Fargo, ND and Arlys Melbourne, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents and one adolescent sister. Funeral Service: Monday, May 19, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. Visitation: Sunday, May 18, 2003, from Noon until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Cremation will take place after the funeral service.
