Peter Kizima 1922 - 2011 Peter was born September 16, 1922, the son of Lovrenty and Agnes (Perekrestenko) Kizima. He grew up in the Kief, ND area and attended country school in Highland Township, Sheridan County, ND. Pete began his farming career with his father and brothers in Sheridan County. In 1945, Pete moved to Minot, purchased land in Ward County and farmed until his health failed. On February 14, 1953, he married the “love of his life” Dolores Halvorson in Minot. Pete and Dolores made many moves with their family, most of those years were in Minot and South Prairie. They were blessed with two sons and two daughters. His family was his pride and joy. He had a way of involving everyone, teaching good work ethics but always enjoyed a good game of Rook or Pinnacle. Peter loved to work and had many interests. Besides farming, he sold cars and machinery. Along with his sons and hired men he did custom combining and trucking for 22 years. Because of his failing health they sold the remaining farming interests and moved into a condo in Minot in 2006. In 1956, Pete rededicated his life to the Lord and loved to share his faith with anyone he met. One of his greatest interests was his involvement in Bible Fellowship Church where he was a member and had faithfully served as trustee and adult Sunday School Teacher for many years. At the time of his death he was honorary deacon. Pete was also a member of Sons of Norway. Pete is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dolores Kizima, Minot; sons, Michael (Toni) Kizima, Minot, and Marshall (Carolyn) Kizima, Minot; daughters, Marvel (Clayton) Buhler, Onida, SD, Melody Miller, Tacoma WA, and a daughter from a former marriage, Gloria (Richard) Lokken, Minot; grandchildren, Jered, Justin, Jesse (Mae) and Jordan Kizima, Serena (Brent) Swenson, Crystal (Dean) Vincent, Matthew (Jessica) Buhler, Josh Buhler, Landi (Robin) Whiteside, Kale and Hailee Kizima, Logan, Luke and Clint Miller; great-grandchildren, Shae, Kingston and Kimberly Kizima, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Olivia and Ava Swenson, Chandra, Raymond, Sydney and Autumn Vincent, Evia, Ally and Henry Buhler, Brooklyn and Saniya Whiteside; sister, Mary Lushenko, Max, ND; sisters-in-law, Mabel Kizima and Marguerite Kizima; along with many nieces and nephews.
