Frances Mary Kivley 1915 - 2003 Frances Mary Kivley, 87, Minot, died Wednesday, September 10, 2003, at a Minot nursing home. She was born December 28, 1915, in Minot, ND, the daughter of William and Julia (Demorey) Schmitz. Her family lived in Minot for a number of years before moving to Foxholm, ND. They then moved back to Minot where she attended school and graduated from Model High School. Frances married Don Cady in 1935. The couple lived in Minot for a few years before moving to Spokane, WA, where they remained for four years. The couple returned to Minot where Don was a plumber and Frances was a housewife. Don died on March 25, 1958. Frances went to work for Trinity Hospital until she married Glen Kivley in 1964. She entered Trinity Homes in 1995. Glen died in December of 2002. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and the Eagles Auxiliary, Minot. Survivors: daughter, Patricia Buettner (Gerald), Minot;
stepdaughters, Sue Kivley, Minot, and Stella Miller (Wayne),
CA; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren
and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded
in death by her husbands, parents, brother, Gerald Schmitz, and
two sisters, Theresa and Margaret. Visitation: Sunday, September 14, 2003, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Prayer Service: Sunday, September 14, 2003 at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
