Gerald C. "Jerry"
King 1928 - 2009 He was born to Anton and Dorothy (Beason) King on July 9, 1928, in Kenmare, ND. Jerry attended school at Coulee, ND. He then moved to Montana as a teenager where he met and married Florence M. Nelson on April 11, 1950. They resided in Montana and North Dakota. In 1956, they and their four children moved to California, where Jerry was employed as a heavy-duty mechanic by the Operating Engineers in various areas. He worked there for 29 years and retired in 1981. Following his retirement, they inherited three grandchildren and returned to Kenmare, ND, where the children all attended school. Jerry was an ardent sports fan and loved all types of sports, especially high school sports. A high light was when he was awarded the Super Sports Fan Award at Kenmare High School. Jerry was an active member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, and also Wisconsin Synod, where he served as treasurer, elder, trustee, and held other offices. Surviving family includes: wife of 59 years, Florence, Kenmare; children, David G. (Betty) King, Silverton, OR; Dawn Joy King, Kenmare, ND; Mark C. (Julie) King, Kenmare, ND; and Sandra K. Wilson, Camden, NJ; grandchildren, David (Lea) King, Kimberly (Aaron) Barkley, Timothy King, Jeremiah (Courtney), Melody, Katie, and Emily King, Andrew (Pauline) Alba, Michelle (Adam) Hessler, Summer (Derrick) Hansen, and Cinnamon and Michael Robledo, as well as eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Roland Cote, Bismarck, ND; sister-in-law, Ila King, Williston, ND; and many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Dorothy King; brothers, Stanford and James King; and sisters, Marian Cote and Dorothy Seime. Funeral: Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity

The graveside service will commence at 3:30 pm. There will not be a formal procession to the cemetery due to safety reasons. Our family would like to thank all of you for your many acts
