William "Bill"
Kessler 1943 - 2007 Bill was born on December 17, 1943, the son of Edward and Theresa (Volk) Kesler, in Harvey, ND. He was raised and educated in the Harvey area, graduating from Harvey High school in 1962. In November of 1962, William enlisted into the United States Air Force, in which he proudly served his country for 22 years. During his military career, he served overseas in Okinawa, Germany and Vietnam. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award w/2 devices, AF Good Conduct medal w/5 devices, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/ 4 devices, AF Longevity Service award ribbon w/4 devices, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/device and the Republic of Vietnam campaign medal. He retired from the Air Force in July of 1985. On June 29, 1968 he was united in marriage to Lavonne Voeller
in Balta, ND. Together they had He was a member of the St. Philomena Catholic Church, Glenburn, American Legion, and VFW of Mohall. Bill enjoyed gardening, mechanical work, working in his yard, hunting, and fishing. He was also an avid reader and raised German Shepherd's as well.
