Florence I. Kerrigan • 1927 - 2008 Florence Ida Westphal was born July 19, 1927 in Minot, ND. She was the eighth of Rudolf and Bertha (Kindt) Westphal's nine children. She stayed in Minot until 1948, when she moved to Seattle, Washington. In Seattle, she enjoyed working for the Veterans Administration for more than 30 years. During her career at the VA, Florence married Wayne "Red" Kerrigan in 1968. After retiring from the VA she continued to work for the Veterans of Foreign Wars for more than 10 years. Florence and Red enjoyed gardening, growing vegetables, league bowling with friends and spending holidays with family. In 2004, following Red's death, Florence returned to Minot to be with family. Those who shared in her life, Sisters, Ester Curtis, Casper, WY, June Springstead, Lignite, ND; brother, Jim Westphal, Vancouver, WA, along with many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will
be held at a later time. |
