Irene Kemp 1913 - 2004 Irene Kemp, 91, 305 8th Ave. NE, Minot, ND, died Friday, May 7, 2004 in a Minot Hospital. Norma Irene Kemp was bon April 27, 1913, in Granville, ND to Helen (Hendricksen) and Martin Foyen. She graduated from Granville High School in 1931 and attended nursing school at St. John's Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota for two years. She was once married to Ralph Kemp, whom she married in 1934. They lived on a farm south of Granville before moving to Towner, North Dakota. Then they moved to Granville where they lived for several years until moving to Minot in 1953. She worked as a volunteer for many years at Trinity Hospital and managed the hospital gift shop for several years. She worked as a receptionist for Thompson-Larson Funeral Home for twelve years. She spent many volunteer hours on top of Washington School
spotting unfamiliar aircraft for Civil Defense. She was among
the first volunteers for Hospice affiliated with St. Joseph's
Hospital in 1985. She worked with the Girl Scouts while her children
were involved. She was awarded a lifetime membership to Minot
P.T.A. while an officer at Erik Ramstad School in 1962. Survivors: daughters, Diane Seeley and her husband, Ron, of Haroard, Ill, Judy Winje and her husband, Richard, Minot and Linda Branesky and her husband, Jerry, Colorado Springs, CO. Nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren;. She was preceded in death by her son, Denis, and daughter, Norma Kay; brother, Clarence Foyen; sisters, Gladys Foyen, Berniece Roberts and Lorna DeCarie Her funeral will be on Monday, May 10, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot Burial: Granville Community Cemetery, Granville, ND on Monday at 4:30 p.m. Visitation: Sunday, May 9, 2004 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Memorials are preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church or the Trinity Homes both of Minot. Officiant: Rev.
