Gerald "Jerry"
Glen Kemmit 1941 -
2008 Jerry was born on August 19, 1941, in Harvey, ND, the son of Albert and Lenora (Adam) Kemmit. He was raised in Anamoose, ND and in 1960, graduated from Anamoose High School. In 1962, he graduated from the North Dakota State School of Science, Wahpeton. Jerry married Sharon Hanson on October 6, 1962, in Anamoose. The couple moved to Minot where Jerry worked as a millwright for power plants with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union. In 1980, Jerry started his own trucking company which he owned and operated up till his death. Jerry was a 25 year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America and was active with the local Boy Scouts and was a Troop Leader. Survivors: wife; Sharon, sons, Danny (Tami) Kemmit, Mark (Ronda) Kemmit and Jay (Kathy) Kemmit, daughter, Tammy Kemmit; grandchildren, Joseph Kemmit, Kelycia Azure, Matthew, Austin, Katelyn, Brittany and Tory Kemmit, mother, Lenora Kemmit, all of Minot; brother, Russell (Zee) Kemmit, Pheonix, AZ; sisters, Janice (Henry) Noehre, Billings, MT, Sharon Kemmit, Denver, CO and Marcella (Frank) Paulus, Moorhead, MN; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Kemmit and his sisters, Sandra Thorell and Vicki Weigel. Funeral Service: Monday, March 3, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Minot. Visitation: Sunday, March 2, 2008, from Noon until 5p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot Officiant: Rev.
