Lorraine Kelly 1920 - 2011 Lorraine M. McClure was born on July 26, 1920, a daughter of Charles and Lena (Muske) McClure, at their farm home near Bowbells, ND. She was raised in the Bowbells area and attended school and graduated from Bowbells High School in 1938. She worked in the CCC Office in Bowbells. On June 7, 1940, Lorraine was united in marriage to Philip D. Kelly. They traveled on the East Coast while Phil worked for the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey. They moved back to Bowbells in 1943, where they owned and operated Phil’s Café. In 1944, they began farming, making their home on the Peter McClure homestead, where Lorraine was born and raised. They farmed and raised their family there. In 1987, they were the recipients of the Soil Conservation Achievement Award. They remained on the farm until 2007, when they moved to Kenmare. Phil passed away March 30, 2008. Following his death, Lorraine continued to live in Kenmare. Lorraine was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Bethlehem Ladies Aid in Bowbells. She was also a member of the Town and Country Homemakers Club. Those who shared In Her Life: her children: Gary (Pat) Kelly, Muskego, WI, Colleen (Chick) Peterson-Magagna, Rock Springs, WY, Richard (Connie) Kelly, Yuma, AZ, Jack (Darla) Kelly, Lander, WY, and Brady (Laurie) Kelly, Lisbon, ND; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lena McClure; husband, Philip; infant brother, Melvin McClure; brother, Richard McClure; sister, Yvonne Pommier; and son-in-law, Gary Peterson. Funeral Service: Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 11:00 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bowbells, ND Officiant: Rev.
