Franklyn W. Kelley 1929 - 2003 Franklyn W. Kelley, 73, passed away on May 14, 2003 in a Minot hospital. He was born on September 29, 1929 in Pittsford, Michigan to Clarence and Lois (Ilo) Kelley. He was reared in the Pittsford area. Franklyn entered the military service at the conclusion of World War II, completed his schooling, and made the Air Force his career. At one time he was stationed at Fort Myers and served in the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. He also served in Laborador, Germany, Turkey and at several sites in the continental United States. He had an extended term of service at the South Radar Base, Minot, North Dakota where he served in communications. Following retirement from the Air Force he continued to live in North Dakota, moving to Velva where he utilized his technical skills in electronics by opening a business. As owner of Kelley's TV, he provided a sales outlet and repair service for the community and area. He retired from this business and enjoyed retirement. His home and family were very important to him. Recent years have been enriched through his use of the computer for making contacts to others and searching for information on the internet. He was a member of the Hjerdal Lutheran Church of Voltaire. He was united in marriage to Lou Jean Latimer at Fort Myers, Virginia on April 28, 1953. They were both members of the United States Air Force at that time. Franklyn was preceded in death by his son, David Kelley, who provided inspiration and purpose for living; his parents; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lou Jean; two sons, Jeffrey Kelley of Bismarck and Kevin Kelley of Elko, Nevada; step mother, Velva Oyer, his special brother, Bud; other brothers and sisters; and granddaughters, Brandy and Ashley of Bismarck, and numerous other relatives. Memorial services will be held on Monday at10:30 a.m. at Hjerdal Lutheran Church of Voltaire. Friends may sign a register one hour prior to the service
