Ione Keller • 1928- 2006 Helene Ione Smith was born on October 9, 1928, the daughter of Harry and Minnie (Heath) Smith in Bowbells, ND. She was raised in Bowbells where she attended Bowbells Public School. Ione was once married to Reginald Gustafson. They made their home in Portal, ND. Ione was married to William "Bill" Keller on October 21, 1956, at First Presbyterian Church, Portal, ND. They made their home on a farm located in Soo Township of Burke County, rural Portal, ND, where they farmed for many years. She was looking forward to celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary this October. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Portal, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Rival Township Homemakers Club. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, cooking, playing cards, angels and dolls. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving family includes: husband of 49 years, Bill, Flaxton, ND; sons, Mike (Lois) Gustafson, Kindred, ND, Dennis (Pam) Gustafson, Minot, and Jon (Luana) Gustafson, Minot; former daughter-in-law, Connie Gustafson, Kingston, AZ; grandchildren, Shane Michael (Sharlene) Gustafson, Shari Ann (Kerry) Haugrud, Charity Lynn Gustafson, Chantae Marie Gustafson and Angela (Jeremy) Benjamin; great-grandchildren, Mataya Gustafson, Victoria Haugrud, Jesalyn Gustafson, and Daylen and Tayson Benjamin; sister, Dorothy Potee, Kenmare, ND; sister-in-law, Elaine Smith, Castle Rock, CO; and many nieces and nephews. Ione was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Douglas and Edsel Smith; and sisters, Clarice Scott and Harriett Smith. Funeral: Saturday, May 20, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at First
