Helen A. Keeton • 1917 - 2008 Helen Arlene Kabanuk was born September 25, 1917 in rural Max, ND, the daughter of Nester and Nadeshda Kabanuk. She attended the State School for the Deaf in Devils Lake. Helen married Carl E. Keeton on July 18, 1945 at the Assembly of God Church in Humble, TX. They lived in Houston, where Carl died on June 28, 1973. Helen moved back to Minot in March of 1974, where she made her home the rest of her life. Helen never had any children, but she had eight brothers and five sisters and many nieces and nephews. Those who shared in her life, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; eight brothers and five sisters. Prayer service: Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial: San Jacinto Memorial Park, Houston, TX, next to her husband Carl. Officiant: Rev.
