Walburga "Wally" Kaul 1929 - 2010 Walburga Volk was born March 6, 1929 in Orrin, ND, to Ben J. and Anna (Wanner) Volk. She was raised and educated in that area. As a young lady she moved to Minot where she worked. In 1947 Walburga married Bill Kaul at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Velva, ND. From 1947 to 1951 they made their home in Minot. In 1951 they moved to Great Falls, Montana, where she was the banquet manager and waitress at the Rainbow Hotel for a number of years. In 1967 she and Bill were divorced and she moved back to Minot. In 1997 she entered the Kenmare Nursing Home, and in 2000 moved to the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison, where she since had lived. Walburga was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Minot. She had a great devotion to the Blessed Mother and the rosary. While living at the Benedictine Living Center she often helped the Sisters make rosaries. Walburga also enjoyed doing ceramics and made many beautiful items over the years. Those who shared in her life, son, Ronald (Sue) Kaul, Great Falls, MT; five grandchildren, Mathew, Bradley, Brian, Katie and Scott; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Angie Prescott, Minot, ND, Agnes Mizeur, Ray, ND, and Bob Volk, New Salem, ND and several nieces and nephews. Walburga was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Braun and brother, Edward Volk. Funeral: Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Minot, ND. Visitation: Wednesday, one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial: Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Velva, ND in the spring. Wally’s Grandsons Following the funeral everyone is invited to join the family for lunch and fellowship in the lower level of the church. Our family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten.
