Cecilia Kassner 1917 - 2003

Cecilia Kassner, 85, Garrison, formerly of Douglas, died Thursday, April 24, 2003, at the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison.

Cecilia was born July 12, 1917, in New Ulm, MN, the daughter of John and Margaret Reznick. At the age of seven she moved with her parents to the rural Douglas, ND, area and attended country school there through the eighth grade.

In 1935 she married Rudolph Kassner in Washburn, ND. They made their home in the Douglas area where they lived and farmed their entire lives. Rudolph died in May of 1986. In July of 1999 Cecilia moved into the Benedictine Living Center where she since had lived.

Cecilia was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Douglas, ND.

Survivors: Sons, Wayne (Frieda) Kassner, Douglas, ND, and Leonard (Diane) Kassner, Minot; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren, and one stepgreat-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph, son, Marvin Kassner, her parents, a sister, Margaret Tower, three brothers, John, Joe and Frank Reznick.

Funeral: Monday, April 28, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Free Lutheran Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 11:00 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND.
