Richard J. Kallias 1939 - 2003
He was born on November 23, 1939 in Minot, ND, to James and Mary (Vitko) Kallias. He attended Minot Public Schools and lived in Minot his entire life. He married Gloria Hatley on July 10, 1959 in Deering, ND. They lived in Minot, where Richard worked for Bridgeman Creamery for 40 years until his retirement in May of 2000. He was a member of the Teamsters Local Union #123. He also worked his way through aviation school and received his pilot's license. Richard was an avid hunter, fisherman and sportsman. He loved spending time at the lake with family and friends, taking them fishing. He also enjoyed his time working on the farm and spending time visiting with neighbors. Survivors: wife, Gloria Kallias, Minot; brother, John (Darlene) Kallias, Minot; sister, Dorothy Aspaas, Minot; two sisters-in-law, Leona Kallias, Minot, and Vivian (Carl) Billing, Minot; brother-in-law, Darwin (MaryBeth) Hatley, Deering, ND; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins also survive. His parents, two brothers, Leo and Phillip Kallias, sister, Irene Aardahl, two nephews, Jerome Aardahl and John Kallias, preceded him in death. Funeral Service: Friday, May 2, 2003, 1:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot, ND. Visitation: Thursday, May 1, 2003 from noon to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Burial: Friday, May 2, 2003, 4:00 p.m. at the Deering
