Julie K. Juergens 1947 - 2004 Julie K. Juergens, 57, 1216 Valley View Dr., Minot, ND, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004, in a Minot nursing home. Julie Kay Halvorson was born on January 18, 1947, the daughter of Forrest "Bud" and Frances (Nelson) Halvorson in Minot, ND. She was raised in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1965. She was employed by JJ Newberrys in the Holland House cafeteria. Julie was married to Richard Juergens on June 28, 1969, in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where she worked at Country Lanes, Lucky Strike, and the Hacienda. Most recently, she was employed by the Minot Public Schools as the Head Cook/Supervisor at Memorial Jr. High School for 18 years. During this time, she and Richard would work the Minot High School athletic events. She also worked for the Minot Recreation Commission. She worked these three jobs until ill health forced her to retire in 2003. Julie was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church, Minot. Julie was one who always put others first. She enjoyed crafts, playing bunko, playing cards, and shopping. She especially enjoyed the holidays and spending time with her family. Spending time with her granddaughter was extra special. Surviving family includes: husband: Richard, of Minot;son: Kevin (Sarah) Juergens of Minot; daughter: Kari (Marlin) Thorson of Minot; granddaughter: Kaitlyn Thorson; mother: Frances Halvorson of Minot; sister: Jill (Earl) Fredericksen of Bottineau; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Curt (Ruth) Juergens, Leo (Mary) Juergens, and Wesley (Judy) Juergens; nieces and nephews: Melissa, James, and Andrew Fredericksen; Brenda Foster, Karla Paurus, Rhonda Maas, and Leann Juergens. Julie was preceded in death by her father, Forrest "Bud" Halvorson. Funeral: Monday, November 1, 2004, at 11:30 a.m. at
