Thomas Judd PhotoThomas E. Judd, 82, Minot, died Saturday, December 25, 2010 in an Englewood, Colorado Hospital.

Thomas Edgar Judd was born on November 11, 1928, a son of George and Hulda (Anderson) Judd, on the family ranch near Ray, ND. He graduated from Ray High School where he was active in sports, music & drama. He attended North Dakota Agricultural College (NDSU) where he studied Livestock Management.

On June 24, 1951, Tom was united in marriage to Viola Vossler, Wishek, ND. Tom and Viola had six children, Kay, James, Mary Jo, Kim, Kristy and Lee Thomas.  After ranching, Tom worked for 10 years as an oil field driller. In 1962 he moved his family to Denver, CO and began working for Kings Food Host. The company moved him to Sheboygan, WI where he opened & managed a store for four years. In 1972 he was able to return to his home state & open a King’s Food Host in Minot. Viola died in 1978.

On May 26, 1979, Tom was united in marriage to Gloria (Peterson) Pope in Minot. They made their home in Minot.  Gloria died March 20, 2006.

Tom had a life-long love of music and was a member of the Minot Nodakords for forty years.  Tom also sang in a Barbershop Quartet and was Barbershopper of the year four times.  In April 2010, he moved to Denver Colorado where he joined the Moutainaires Barbershop Chorus in Denver. He was a member and sang in the choir of the Christ Lutheran Church, Minot and Faith Lutheran Church, Golden, CO.

Tom is survived by:
                Children: Lee Thomas Judd, Littleton, CO, Kay (Terry) Johnson, Modesto, CA, Kimberly (Larry) Stumpf, Oconomowoc, WI, Kristy Judd, Littleton, CO and Cyndy (Tim) Brunk, Lafayette, CO;  Grandchildren: Joshua (Katie) Stumpf, Jakeb (Amy) Stumpf, Michael (Elisabeth) Johnson & Aiden Judd; Great-grandchildren:  Kendra & Mariana; Step-children: David M. Pope, Minot, Deborah Nuchols, Maryville, TN, Holly Pope, Minot;  Two sisters, Mary Wardlow, New Town, ND and Ann Rogers, Denver, CO. Numerous  nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Viola, second wife Gloria, and two children, James and Mary Jo, sisters Jo Mendenhall and Mildred Judd.

Visitation: Friday, January 7, 2011 from 2 until 7 pm at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Prayer Service: Friday, January 7, 2011 at 7 pm in Thompson Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot

Funeral Service:  Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 1 pm at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot

Burial:  Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
