Theoda A. "Tody"
Johnson • 1936 - 2003 Theoda A. "Tody" Johnson, 66, Tolley, died Monday, June 30, 2003, in a Minot Medical Center. Theoda was born October 29, 1936, in Greene, ND, the daughter of Theodore and Annie E. (Helmers) Hansen. She moved with her family to Ivanhoe Township. She attended country school and graduated from Tolley High School. On October 29, 1957, she married Kenneth O. Johnson in Tolley. They lived and farmed in the Tolley area. Theoda was a very good seamstress and she loved gardening, canning, baking and quilting. She was the main organizer for many area events. She loved visiting friends and neighbors. Theoda would cook diner on Sunday's for her family and loved to have family gatherings on any occasion. She was a member of WELCA and was a 4-H leader. She was also the chairman of many Tolley All School Reunions. Theoda is survived by her husband, Kenneth O. Johnson, Tolley; sons, Jeffrey (Sheila) Johnson, Minot, and Paul (Kristi) Johnson, Fargo; daughter, Stacey (Sven) Hauge, Williston; four grandchildren, Makenzi Johnson, Katie Johnson, Steven Hauge and Jody Hauge; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Hauge and Sam Hauge; sisters, Elaine (Dwayne) Keith, Mohall, Eunice (Robert) Hembre, Minot, and Judith (David) Fitzgerald, Watford City; sisters-in-law, Helen Peterson, Kenmare, and Elaine (Merton) Makle, Conrad, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, Verdean Hansen, step-brother, Merlin Ellingson, niece, Debra Keith, and sister-in-law, Edna Johnson. Funeral: Thursday, July 3, 2003, at 3:00 pm at Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tolley. Visitation: Wednesday, July 2, 2003, from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in Kenmare. Burial: McKinney Cemetery, Tolley. Officiant: Rev.
