Ronald Johnson PhotoRonald Johnson, 82, Carpio, ND, died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison.

Ronald Eugene Johnson was delivered by his aunt Mildred on December 3, 1928, a son of Hillman and Ruth (Olson) Johnson in Carpio Township, Carpio, ND. He attended school in the Landa and Souris areas. Ron moved with his family to Passport Township, Berthold, ND.   

On June 8, 1954, Ron was united in marriage to Blanche Feldman in Kenmare, ND. Following their marriage they lived on the Johnson farm in Carpio Township, Ward County, near Carpio, ND. Ron was a farmer and rancher in the area his entire life, raising cattle, and small grains. Blanche died November 29, 1995. Following her death, Ron continued to live on the farm.

Ron was a current member of the Carpio Lutheran Church, and  a past member of the Carpio School Board, North Dakota Stockmen’s Association, Berthold Farmers Elevator Board, the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Club.

Ron enjoyed farming, visiting with friends, playing cards, going to the casino, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Ron is survived by:  Son: Jeffrey (Jodi) Johnson, Carpio, ND; daughters: Eloise (Ron) Worden, Krum, TX, Virginia Stockburger, Fargo, ND, Patricia (Stacy) Abrahamson, Minot; daughter-in-law: Debra Johnson, Carpio; grandchildren and great-grandchildren : JeNeil (Kim) Greek and their children: Erin, Abbey, Anna and Ethan; Jamie Hull, Weatherford, TX and her child Paige; Lindsay Kleven, Minot; Megan Stockburger, Fargo, Jessi and Jasmin Johnson , Carpio, Hallie Abrahamson, Joshua (Hunter), Jordan, and Justin Abrahamson, Minot; Nathan Johnson, Minot, Andrew Johnson, Carpio, ND, Brian Johnson, Carpio, Jerad Johnson, Carpio, Kristin (Bradley) Kersten, Kramer, ND, Kelsey (Aaron)  Wodtka, and their children Kaylee and McKenzie, Coulee City, WA, Kyleen Johnson; sister Marilyn Deaver, Berthold, ND and his favorite dog Spike.   

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, wife Blanche, son Bruce Johnson in 2007, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Visitation:  Sunday, July 3, 2011 from noon until 5 pm at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Funeral Service: Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Carpio Lutheran Church, Carpio, ND

Burial:  First Lutheran Cemetery, Carpio, ND
