Myrtle Johnson • 1917 - 2008 Myrtle Elstoen was born June 23, 1917, the daughter of Antone and Gina (Fladger) Elstoen , in Passport Township, Berthold, ND. She attended school in Passport Township and Berthold, ND, graduating from Berthold High School. On November 25, 1942, she was united in marriage to Willard Sabin Johnson in Sidney, MT. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed west of Berthold. Her husband died October 29, 1993. She continued to live on the farm until early 2008, when she moved to Minot. Myrtle was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold, where she was active in the church choir, ladies circle, and taught Sunday school. Myrtle is survived by: She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Willard Sr., four sisters Margaret, Lillian, Agnes, Josephine, and two brothers Thomas and Joseph.
