Margaret Johnson, 87, Kenmare, ND, died Saturday, April 28, 2007 in a Kenmare hospital.

Margaret was born on April 24, 1920 the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Ruhman) David in Foley, MN. She was reared and educated near Foley, MN, attending country schools. She worked in Minneapolis and Wisconsin in a hospital following school.

In 1942, she went to work at the shipyards in Sausalito, CA, where she met her future husband. On December 16, 1944, she was united in marriage to Orvin Johnson. In 1946, they moved to Stanley, ND where Margaret worked for the Stanley Dry Cleaners for 24 years. In 1973, they moved to Portland, OR, where she worked for a dry cleaner, then at a nursing home until retiring in 1987. Orvin died in 1991. Following his death, she moved to Kenmare, ND where she lived at the time of her death.

She was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church, St. Jude Circle, Senior Citizens and the VFW Auxiliary, all of Kenmare, ND

She is survived by: Her sister, Gloria Moen, Kenmare, ND; nieces: Eileen Helmers and her children, Blair and Zack; Elaine (Steve) Bauer and their children, Cole, Lisa and Kiah all of Kenmare; Valerie Moen, St. Petersburg, FL; Charlotte (LeRoy) Kipka and Kathleen Stieninger, both of St. Cloud, MN; Ervin (Sharon) Kosloski, Merrifield, MN

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers and one sister.

There will be no reviewal, as cremation had taken place, but friends may sign a register book Thursday prior to the service.

Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, May 3, 2007, at 9 a.m. the St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare, ND.

Burial: Private family burial at Knife River Cemetery, Stanley, ND.
