Leon Arthur Johnson 1949 - 2003

Leon Arthur Johnson, 54, of Columbus, GA, died Saturday, May 10, 2003.

He was born on March 28, 1949, in Minot, to Arthur B. and Lois G. Johnson. He attended school in Minot, graduating from Minot Model in 1967. In 1971 he earned an associates degree in Electrical Contracting from Whapeton State School of Science.

Leon worked for Art B. Johnson Construction from 1971 until 1985. His most recent employment was with Williams Building Corporation out of Kansas City, Missouri. His current assignment was in Columbus, Georgia.

Leon married Bonita Zuck in 1989 at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot. He thoroughly enjoyed his step-daughter, Mindy Dodson. His passion in life was hunting and fishing where he enjoyed his many friends and communed with nature.

Survivors: father, Art B. Johnson, Minot; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis (Joan), Grand Forks, ND, Wesley (Patricia), Edina, MN and Terrance (Susan) Bemidji, MN; step-daughter, Mindy Dodson, Minneapolis, MN and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois G. Johnson and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral: Friday, 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.

Visitation: Thursday from noon until 8 p.m. and there will be a gathering of friends and family on Thursday from 8 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
